committed suicide 7 years ago. However, the truth lies in darkness and Kayoko’s

the facts. An incident becomes the catalyst that entwines Kayoko and the people
around her, and she closes in on the truth behind her father’s death.

Synopsis: Originally a mid-level manager (Kimura Takuya) with a promising

nothing of and forced out of the workplace. Even after that, he is assailed by
a series of surprises and in one day, he loses his house, wealth and handphone
until he is without a cent to his name. At his wits end, he comes to a park
where he encounters two children. Learning from them how to survive even if he
does not have money, he somehow weathers this crisis and discovers the truly
important and priceless things in life. The good thing about him is that his
carefree personality amazingly does not shift. It is not resentment and
bitterness that become his driving force, but the love and help of the people
he meets that enables him to keep go forward step by step.

Synopsis: The police receive a tip off from their undercover operative that the
crime syndicate Oda-gumi will be conducting a huge drug transaction. However,
Oda Taisei suspects that there is a spy in their midst and does not even tell
his leaders the venue of the transaction until the very last minute. Hearing of
police activities from his spy in the police organisation, he orders a change
in the location. The police are led by the nose, but scramble to the alleged
venue based on information from their operative. They charge in and seize Oda.
However, right before that, Oda had received information from his spy and
promptly threw away the drugs to destroy evidence. In the end, he and his men
are released. This incident confirms to both Oda and Police Inspector Onodera
(Kadono Takuzo) that there is a spy in each of their organisations. Moriya Jun
(Nishijima Hidetoshi) happens to see police officer Takayama Ryosuke (Kagawa
Teruyuki). A few days earlier, the two of them had encountered each other on
the streets by chance, but this is the first time that they learn of their
respective positions as crime syndicate member and police officer. While Moriya
is a member of the Oda-gumi, he is actually the police’s undercover operative.
No one besides Onodera knows that he is a police officer. But the 6 years spent
enduring this mission has started to tip Moriya’s emotional balance a little.
On the other hand, Takayama is given the mission to find the traitor within the
police by the director of the Security Department. Takayama is in fact the spy
for the Oda-gumi and has been secretly tasked to discover the identity of the
undercover operative in the gang. No one in the police organisation knows that
and he is gradually alienated by his colleagues who wonder if he suspects them.
Takayama obtains the personal history of the Oda-gumi members who were involved
in the drug transaction the other day from Oda. A man stealthily tails him from
behind as he leaves. It it Moriya. However, Takayama shakes him off by slipping
into a crowd. An invisible fear that their true identities have been revealed
to someone else starts to shake them up … …

Synopsis: Kodaira Jotaro (Ikuta Toma) is a youth of today who lives from day to

steady work performance, his company unexpectedly downsizes by laying off its
part-time and temporary workers. His unemployment is the catalyst for the break
up with his girlfriend of 7 years. Jotaro returns to his family whom he has
grown apart from, but it is not a place where he can be himself with the
presence of his reliable younger brother who works at the local government
office. Just as Jotaro is ready to despair, he suddenly learns of the
activities of the Kochi Shimanto ‘Area Revitalisation Cooperation Volunteers’
through the internet. Taking an interest in it, he decides to live in Shimanto
City which he is a complete stranger to. Kahori (Maki Yoko) works at leading
edge medical department for cancer as a houseman after graduating from a famous
private Tokyo medical college. This has been her dream since high school days.
However, one day, she is asked by her supervising doctor to transfer and is
sent to her hometown of Shimanto City to be a clinician at the municipal
hospital. With her dream shattered, a despondent Kahori happens to ride on the
same train bound for Kochi as Jotaro. Because of that incident, Jotaro feels a
sense of affinity as fellow friends who have moved out from Tokyo, but his
optimism rubs Kahori the wrong way.

Synopsis: Komori Emi (Mimura), an elementary school teacher in Nagoya, is a

fiance. Her only comfort is Twitter and SNS where she gives vent to her
complaints anonymously and takes solace from the replies. One day, Emi receives
a rant from a mysterious man called Yaegashi Shuji (Kakei Toshio) in response
to her comments. “You are only a fly buzzing around a fan. Listen to me if you
want to change your life.” With some objective in mind, he instigates Emi and
gives her various “missions” that would change her life. Emi is twisted around
by him but gradually transforms into a magnificent woman.

Synopsis: 19-year-old Saeki Rei (Takei Emi) comes to Tokyo. Rei’s redeeming
traits are her cheerfulness and distinctive positivity, but everything she does
is always unheard of and unsuccessful. Because this foolhardiness causes
trouble to the people around her each time, she ends up being called a girl who
is unable to read situations. Rei moves to Tokyo with neither a dream nor goal,
and is reunited with her father Suzuki Takuya (Watabe Atsuro) who abandoned her
mother and her 15 years ago. Although she opposes her father for making her
mother miserable, his dissolute life rouses her into action. “This won’t do.
I’ve to make this person happy or I can’t move on with my own life!” And so,
she runs about with the aim of getting her father remarried in her first experience
living in Tokyo. With cheerfulness and positivity, she overcomes various
difficulties and slowly changes the people around her too.

Synopsis: Tachibana Tamako (Maya Miki) is a veteran detective in Kyoto

and knows everything about all the paths in Kyoto. Making use of her gift as a
“human GPS”, she is charged with creating investigation maps. An investigation
map is the first thing that is done when an investigation task force gets to
its feet. A lot of the information that surfaces as the investigation processes
including suspicious vehicles and eyewitness statements are recorded, making it
a repository of clues. While everyone is in awe of the unparalled accuracy of
Tamako’s maps as well as her sharp powers of deduction on which this is based,
she is a hasty person prone to making silly mistakes.

medical license is not needed, and is also uninterested in the power struggles
characteristic of hospitals. Her private life and work experience is shrouded
in mystery, her fees several orders of magnitude higher but she is a
battle-hardened first-rate surgeon with the instincts of a genius. While there
are ugly rumours that she left the medical community because of money problems
and medical malpractice, no one knows the person she really is.

Synopsis: Raised in a family where her father is a general practitioner, Miyama

entered the faculty of medicine on a scholarship without any financial
assistance from her parents. She is now a first-year houseman at a university
hospital’s accident and emergency centre for a three-month training along with
Yazawa Kei (Hayashi Kento), Manaka Junichi (Masuda Takahisa), Koiwai Hinako
(Omasa Aya), Arashiro Sachi (Ishibashi Anna). Half a year into becoming
doctors, they still do not have the ability to save people. Unable to do
anything, they can only stand dazedly rooted to the spot in the emergency
centre where every minute counts. They encounter patients with anorexia,
bulimia, suicidal tendencies, depression … … While some people refuse social
security and push their children to the brink of starvation, others take
advantage of the state subsidies for medical treatment to go to the hospital in
an ambulance instead of a taxi. In addition, the reality of the medical scene
is overworked doctors because of their severe shortage. The five of them do not
have high aspirations as doctors and also do not know which department they
should move on to. To begin with, they do not even know if they truly want to
be doctors. Trained by their experienced seniors and a variety of patients,
they develop the qualities of a doctor and mature as adults.

Synopsis: 34-year-old Tanaka Chiharu (Kanno Miho) is a contract staff at a

she is good-natured to a fault and a people person, her relationships have not
lasted long because she cannot affect cuteness. Not that she does not want to
get married. She wants to, and thinks that she should, but for some reason, she
just cannot seem to. With friends of the same age are getting married one after
another and seeing the birth of children, she starts to feel anxious about
remaining single as she grows old. Then, Chiharu learns that Chinatsu, her
younger sister, who is on the verge of marriage, hopes to live together in the
family home. This makes it hard for Chiharu to stay and she ends up moving in
with Kirishima Haruko (Amami Yuki) whom she met by chance. 44-year-old Haruko
is a talented, successful landscape gardening planner who has designed parks
and the gardens of large homes. As she gets older, she has come to terms with
her worries and also grown used to being alone. Because she has been carrying
on a long-standing affair with her married boss, she has overcome doubts on
marriage and childbirth and is philosophical about love. She has chosen not to
marry, but on the few occasions that she goes to see her mother and
grandmother, their laments sink in … … Then, there is 32-year-old kind-hearted,
sensitive Kudo Junpei (Tamaki Hiroshi), who works part-time at a flower shop.
He thinks of other people more than he does of himself, is a late bloomer in
love and makes little headway. Although he does his best in his life, he has no
confidence to marry and support someone else and a family. He believes it is
absolutely impossible for him financially and emotionally, the way he is now.
Doku (Poison)

Synopsis: Genius scientist Matsui Toichi (Ayabe Yuji) has disappeared after

undetectable. Right after that, Matsui starts appearing at various scenes at
unexpected moments like a chimera. As if conducting and experiment, he hands
the drug to people and watches what happens … … Detective Sasamoto Naomi (Usuda
Asami) suspects the presence of a poison that makes the perfect crime possible
and pursues Matsui and the poison. 15 years ago, her detective father died
under suspicious circumstances, and she has a strong interest in cases where
the cause of death has is too many contradictory points.

village deep in the mountains, to charge off for the capital. While Sarutobi
attempts to protect Oichi from intrigue, Tokusaburo (Yanagiba Toshiro), a
devious, mysterious merchant, appears before him. And then Sarutobi’s
archnemesis, Hattori Hanzomon, the grandson of Hattori Hanzo.

She is Tokugawa Iemitsu (Tabe Mikako). An incident causes the pure-hearted
Madenokoji Arikoto (Sakai Masato) who heads a temple to return to secular life
and become one of the 3,000 handsome concubines that wait on the shogun in the
inner palace.

Synopsis: An unidentified investigator (Takahashi Katsunori) rents a room at a
multi-tenant building with shady strip clubs. Although he is an investigator,
he is not an occupational investigator, but a troubleshooter who undertakes
various jobs as a go-between for the sake of money. He usually does odd jobs at
a strip club, and sometimes solves trivial stalking and debt collecting cases
as he ekes out a living. However, the requests he accepts are typically only
from females. This bourbon and jazz loving, unsentimental and tough
investigator uses foul language, hates being tied down more than anything, and
leads a life free of mobile phones, emails and the internet. While he is not
the type who is hard up for women, his policy is not to sleep with the same
woman twice. However, he is extremely kind to females and because of that, he
frequently gets into unnecessary trouble with women who do not pay.

class as a transfer student. Yuiko is a queer young girl with the ability to

do with trouble, but Yuiko follows her around asking for help. Harm even
befalls Ayami. With reluctance, Ayami ends up seeking a solution to the

she lived abroad for a long time, she completely cannot understand the
old-fashioned ideas peculiar to Japan and tends to be frank about what she
thinks. On the eve and the day of the school entrance examination, various
incidents occur. There is the spectre of someone attempting to wreck the
examination for some motive. Everyone present is a potential suspect and the
truth remains shrouded in mystery to the end.

Synopsis: Three years ago, Narumi Hikaru (Nakayama Yuma) and Suga Mizuho (Honda
Tsubasa) were in love and would meet in secret for several months in the second
year of high school. It started casually and ended casually. Hikaru and Mizuho
were alike in their inabilities to grasp their distance from others or to be
interested in another person; poor at the way they get involved with other
people. The two of them should not have met again, but the news of the sudden
death of a high school classmate Origuchi Haruka (Mizuno Erina) from cancer
brings them together again. Mizuho undertakes the search for the unknown
boyfriend from high school to fulfil the wishes of the Haruka’s mother, who
believes that she is her daughter’s good friend. Hikaru and Mizuho are now
university students, and changes have come upon their relationship. They look
back at the past, meet many people again and as they pick up various pieces of
love, they get close to the true face of the unseen person.

Synopsis: Hiratsuka Heihachi (Katori Shingo), a detective of the Tokyo
Metropolitan Police Department’s First Investigative Division, is an oddball
with his rude, petty, makeshift attitude and fuss over little things although
he is always smiling and excrutiatingly gentlemanly in speech to everyone.
Brazenly stepping into territory that others hate, he exposes their hidden
faces and the true nature of human relations to solve cases. On the other hand,
rookie detective Saionji Kosuke (Yamashita Tomohisa), the son of a very high
profile distinguished family, is highly conscientious, untainted and upright.
He is taken on probation by his coveted First Investigative Division, but the
work he is given is overseen by Hiratsuka. The First Investigative Division’s
Team Hiratsuka is a one-man department with Hiratsuka himself. While Hiratsuka
is an unpopular person that no one in the division wishes to work under, he has
somehow solved a great number of cases in succession. For that reason, the
members of the division speculate that Hiratsuka might have ties with the dark
side and Saionji is put under Hiratsuka in order to find evidence of his
wrongdoing. However, the biggest reason why Hiratsuka solves cases is because
he is the person that criminals most hated.

Synopsis: Tokyo’s Haneda Airport is the busiest airport in Japan with 1
airplane taking off and landing every 2 minutes. In a year, 6 billion people
(an average of 170,000 people a day) pass through the airport. Shinoda Kaori
(Fukada Kyoko) is a new air traffic controller. It is an extremely stressful
and difficult job where a split-second’s error in judgment can cause a
catastrophic incident. Kaori had originally been a ground staff at the airport
with an ambition to become an air traffic controller who directs the aircraft
of all airlines, but an incident spurs her to resign and take the national
exam. After completing rigorous training at the air navigation security
college, she is assigned to Haneda Airport’s Air Traffic Control Centre as an
air traffic controller just before she turns 30. When she gets up to the
control tower with a mixture of nervousness, excitement and anxiety, the people
she sees are a group of professionals who remain calm in the face of
emergencies and protect human lives. Kaori guides aircraft with veteran air
controller Takeuchi Hiromi (Seto Asaka) for on-the-job training. Because of a
little careless mistake that she makes, and incident occurs that is a step
short of an accident. She gets discouraged, but no one scolds her for the
mistake she made which makes her feel even worse. However, she listens to the
feelings of Yuki Noboru (Tokito Saburo) and Kondo Yukihiro (Kaname Jun) as air
traffic controllers and gradually pulls herself together.

Tefutefuso e Yokoso

Lured by these exceptional terms, the residents (Yuki Jutta, Eguchi Noriko,
Suzuki Kosuke) chose the dilapidated apartment building ‘Tefutefuso’. However,
there is naturally a catch to this sweet deal. There are ghosts (Kurokawa
Tomoka, Kitaro, Ashina Sei) living in each of the six apartments. Although the
residents are stunned by this fact, they gradually establish emotional bonds
with the ghosts. They cry after learning the circumstances in which these ghosts
lost their lives, and are at times encouraged as well as consoled by them. And
when the residents are able to touch the bodies of the ghosts, the ghosts move
towards peaceful eternal rest … …
